A dynamic visual identity for a new pottery studio in the heart of Edinburgh.

visual identity

Inspired by rock art, potter's wheels, and constellations, the visual identity for Wild Fired is designed to evoke creativity, reflection, and community.

The guidelines were developed alongside the website, which allowed for visually dynamic and cohesive imagery that would work well in both static, animated, and interactive form.

The constellations of rock art have since been used across many types of media, including in the design of the studio facade, social media posts, and printed material.

The Wild Fired website is designed to feel like a journey, incorporating navigation into the centre of the visuals, rather than as something separate.

Visitors are able to explore the concepts behind Wild Fired, the community of people at its core, and the ways in which they can engage with the studio, all through intuitive interactive elements which both reference and inform the visual identity of Wild Fired.

In the Autumn of 2023, Stephen Wood, Maya Hoole, and Kitt Bunney lead a group of curious individuals on a journey to explore and recreate Bronze-age Beaker Pottery.

Enduring Earth was a precursor to Wild Fired - an exploration into archaeology and the potential for creative community-based workshops. Wild Fired was initially going to be the umbrella that encompassed these workshops, but has since grown into its own studio space, with classes and a growing community, centred around pottery.
